SF PRECISION

Small Part Machining Specialist

After completing his Machine Tool Technology education, SF PRECISION founder Jeff McWhinney began his 30-year love of fabrication as an apprentice machinist making luxury yacht windlasses for Keefe Industries. His CNC education began a few years later when he joined Paragon Machine, a company known throughout the world for it’s high-end Titanium, CrMo, and Aluminum bicycle components.

Towards the beginning of the technology revolution in micro machining, Jeff spent a decade at 3M Corporation’s Optics Technology Lab immersed in the most advanced microstructure research in the world. As the Senior Research Machinist, he was in charge of creating tooling, strategies and programming on multi-million dollar Diamond Turning machines. He regularly cut structures so small and complex that it wasn’t always clear whether making them was even possible.
